About the Owner

Greetings! My name is Emy, and I would like to share my journey towards establishing my own cat rescue. My lifelong connection with cats began in infancy, as I assisted my mother in her cat rescue efforts from an early age. It has always been my aspiration to create a rescue organization of my own.

At the age of 17, I had the privilege of collaborating with my best friend at her highly successful cat rescue, "Murphy's Safe Haven." Together, we dedicated ourselves to rescuing cats, focusing on Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiatives and finding them loving homes.

Subsequently, I relocated to the Florida Keys, where I further pursued my passion for animal welfare by becoming a Marine Animal Trainer. This role allowed me to deepen my understanding of husbandry and animal behavior while working with a diverse array of rescued and rehabilitated marine life, including reptiles, sea turtles, sharks, and crocodilians. Each animal had its unique story and personality, and I cherished the opportunity to develop relationships with them.

While cats differ fundamentally from marine animals, I have found that they share commonalities in their behaviors and needs. One highlight of my marine career was serving as the primary caretaker for a Hawksbill Sea Turtle named "Christmas," who suffered from a buoyancy disorder known as "Bubble Butt." Caring for her taught me invaluable lessons about husbandry, which translates seamlessly into my work with cats.

Throughout my journey, my passion for cat rescue has remained unwavering. After moving to San Diego, I made the decision to establish my own rescue organization. My mission is to make a meaningful difference for both cats and their owners, emphasizing the importance of microchipping to reunite lost pets with their rightful families. Additionally, I am committed to building a robust foster network to provide care for kittens and cats until they find their forever homes.
