BONDED PAIRS
One is the loneliest number!

Single Kitten Syndrome:

It might seem that we are using single kitten syndrome as a way to adopt out more

kittens but that is not the case! There are so many benefits for adopting more than one kitten!

Taking home just one kitten may seem like a good idea-but a lonely kitten can be a real

"cat-tastrophe" for felines and humans alike. Single Kitten Syndrome is the reason that,

like many other organizations, we ask for kittens to go home in pairs.

What Are The Symptoms Of Single Kitten Syndrome?

Destructiveness, crying/constant meowing, scratching, biting, aggression, lack of sleep,

more time spent training, boredom, anxiousness, and much more!

Kittens are still figuring out how to grow up to be cats. Having another feline around

helps reinforce good habits like using the litter box and scratching post. With a buddy in

the home, they learn to be model "kit-izens" and use their very best behavior A lack of

feedback from littermates can have lasting effects into adulthood. Because this

feedback on appropriate and inappropriate behaviors is so critical, the best way to

prevent Single Kitten "Syndrome" behaviors is to adopt two kittens, whether litter mates

or kittens of similar age.

Two kittens are very entertaining and use up each other's endless kitten energy. They

will teach each other that hard biting, scratching and clawing during play is not

appropriate. But don't worry, during their development, both kittens will also bond to

family members in addition to each other.

Did You Know?

Single kittens are the #1 most returned animal to rescues & shelters nationwide!

Kittens need interaction with other kittens for healthy social development. Isolating a

kitten can delay development emotionally, socially, and sometimes physically. Kittens

who are able to remain with one of their littermates (or a similarly-aged companion) tend

to be healthier, happier, and better socialized.

Also, if you decide to adopt more than one kitten, the adoption fee will be reduced!
